I wanted to give you three tips to accomplish more of your goals this week!
1. Don’t add your goals to your to-do list.
Yep, you read that right. When you add your goals to your to-do list, psychologically everything on your list is of equal importance. Instead, write and track your goals in a separate journal or planner. I use my Goal. Plan. Do. Notepad (see below) to help keep me on track, and I use a journal for everything else.
2. Do less to do more.
If you’re working on more than 3 goals at any one time, you are setting yourself up for failure. Why? Because each goal may have 3-5 different things you have to get done…. try multiplying that by 5 goals… I’m overwhelmed just thinking about it! Pick 1 goal (maybe 2 if you’re really disciplined) to focus on each week, and add a new one as you check them off.
2. Block out time… daily!
Do you ever find yourself saying, “I’ll do that later.”? And, despite your best intentions… “later”…. never comes.. Yeah, me too! So I’ve made a habit of blocking out at least 20 minutes a day to focus on my goal for the week. Because I’ve mapped out my goal using my notepad, I know EXACTLY what I need to do everyday vs. spending 45 minutes trying to figure out what to do.
